Feel the Teal!

Feel the Teal!

While autumnal trends seem to favour muted and warming tones, winter welcomes a cooler palette. Adding in a pop of seasonal colour can easily lift a room and give it some character, and with winter fast approaching now is the time to encompass icy tones.

Here, Sian O’Neill, Head of Marketing and Online at Topps Tiles, shows homeowners how easy it is to add pops of colour to your décor using the cool and classic teal shade. It’s time to ditch the dreary neutrals and splash some colour around to mirror the season’s more vibrant side.

Take to the seas

“We all know the rich orange and red tones of autumn are some of the most beautiful nature has to offer, but there are plenty of other natural colour palettes out there to draw inspiration from, including deep greens and soft blues of the ocean.

“Our award winning Attingham Seagrass Geometric tile, which picked up silver at this year’s House Beautiful Awards, is the perfect way to make a statement with its subtle and calming colour. The glossy finish and textured designs make for an easy win when it comes to creating a focal point on any wall in the home, perfect for large areas or smaller ones such as a splashback around a sink.”

Totally teal

“Using teal tiles is the perfect way to complement one of this season’s big trends – using grey tones in the home - and will add a lovely pop of colour to any wall without being too harsh.

“Inspired by the Roker Pier lighthouse in Sunderland, the Minton Hollins range is a contemporary take on the lighthouse’s classic Victorian interior, ideal for those wanting to hone in on their more traditional side.”

Going underground

“If you really want to make a statement, we suggest using our Diamante teal tiles.  Inspired by the bustling London Underground, these tiles are as vivid as the history etched into the tunnel walls and offer a lovely brick effect.

“These durable ceramic tiles are finished with a stylish gloss making them easy to clean and the perfect companion for any bathroom or kitchen wall. Play around with different coloured grouts to really enhance these tiles, which are also available in white, cream, deep blue and ochre.”
