It's A Bug's Life

It's A Bug's Life

It is now easier than ever for art fans to purchase one of the limited edition prints of plants, bugs and tiny winged creatures from Danish design house hagedornhagen thanks to an exclusive partnership with The Gifted Few.

Founded by photographers Mads Hagedorn-Olsen and Anders Morell, hagedornhagen collects, prepares and photographs selected types of beetles, butterflies and plants. From these, the design house has created a series of high quality art prints, which reproduce the colours and details of the images’ subjects in breath-taking and beautiful detail. Each print is produced in Denmark and is made in a limited edition of 2,000 copies.

Some of the prints have been made available through UK retailers previously, but The Gifted Few is the first UK-based retailer to offer the whole collection through its website.

There are currently 61 prints on offer from The Gifted Few, with prices ranging from £17.95 to £158.95. The collection includes:

  • Butterfly Print 13, price: £28.95, dimensions: 50cm x 70cm or 70cm x 100cm, material: 200gsm art paper (pictured).
  • Leaf Print 2, price: £31.95, dimensions: 50cm x 70cm, material: 200gsm luxo satin art paper.

Anders Morell Hagen, creative director at hagedornhagen, said: "We are excited about this partnership. The Gifted Few is a perfect match for our brand as our high quality art printings are made for modern living, where furniture classics are mixed with vibrant vintage.

"In addition, it’s an amazing opportunity to have all our motives available from UK-based retailer. By having all of our collections available through The Gifted Few, we get the opportunity to show the width and diversity of our passion and the history of hagedornhagen; it’s an optimal scenario for all artists.”

Aaron Andrews, creative director at The Gifted Few, said: “The simple, clean and graphic images have a very modern look, but the quality craftsmanship and artistry of these hagedornhagen prints reflect the roots of classic design, meaning they will certainly stand the test of time. The hagedornhagen collection is very much in line with The Gifted Few brand – we celebrate contemporary artists and designers while being passionate about classic, vintage and industrial design.

“These prints will look great in most homes, whether the interior is inspired by the current industrial trend, has lots of mid-century pieces or is an eclectic mix of different styles and eras. They’d also look great in children’s rooms – perfect for creepy crawly loving kids. Whatever your interior style and tastes, we’re delighted to be able to offer our customers the choice of all of the hagedornhagen prints so they can pick the right ones for their home.”
